About us
We – Leonie & Jörn – founded Atelier Leo la Douce in 2016 as a small design label specializing in illustration and stationery. In our studio, we design, illustrate, design, and package every product ourselves.
Leonie.
She is the heart and soul of our studio. When she paints, she is in another world. In this world, magical ideas and stories are born, captured through color and form in unique illustrations.
Leonie has a master's degree in design with a focus on illustration. Her biggest dream has always been to start her own label and publish children's books.
Jörn.
Jörn is in charge of the office. You can thank him for your invoices. Jörn studied languages, political science, and business administration.
Occasionally, he too has a creative idea.
"We deliberately work analogously, using classic watercolor techniques. With brushstrokes that are allowed to remain visible, with layers of paint that touch, overlap, and come alive. Our motifs tell quiet stories – inspired by nature, by the everyday, by the magic in the inconspicuous."
How we work.
We create our designs and illustrations the way we like them best: unique, imaginative, with a love of detail. Most of our motifs and patterns are created analogously with brush, pen and paint, which is why we regard each one as a little treasure.
In the knowledge that everything we have comes from nature, we attach great importance to the responsible use of our resources and the use of environmentally friendly materials.
